How much time will take to walk in Central Park to see the most statues in Central Park (between 79th street and Grand Army Plaza) ? I think that vwill be nice to walk when are a lot of other people, as in weekend.
When is nicer, in the morning or in afternoon? Is the same on Sunday as in Saturday?

Most weeks they are different days. (Sorry could not resist.)

On a nice day the park is always abuzz with activity or people sunbathing. The variable is a special event like race or concert on the Great Lawn.

We prefer the park when it is quieter. We happened to be there last Friday (Good Friday) and it was crowded. The Park attracts tourists and NY'ers alike.

You'll have a hard time finding EVERY statue between 79th street and 5th Ave and Central Park South - Which side are you entering on. The area is roughly just less than 2km s by just less than 1km.

Aduchamp, My native language is not English ( perhaps no need to say, because it is seen). I like when someone corrects my mistakes, because this is an opportunity to learn.

However, I don't understand your remark: "They have different days most weeks." By "Is the same on Sunday as on Saturday?" I wanted to ask if on Saturdays, like on Sundays, are there in Central Park many people. How should I say ?

I would not have not have done that if I knew was not your first language. It was meant, however, in a good natured way.

I understood what you meant. Is the park more crowded on a Saturday or Sunday? Are there more activities on a Saturday or Sunday.

During the nice weather the Park is always crowded. And as I said above, there are always special events in the Park which make it more crowded.

Go to the web site of the Central Park conservancy to get full details on the park, sights, paths, tours, etc. Do realize that it is huge and that much of it is hilly and heavily wooded - although there are also some large open spaces - as well as a small zoo, lake, resevoir etc.

It's always crowded on weekends (except for torrential rains or blizzards) but I find Sunday more crowded that Sat usually.

For statuary - If you enter the park at 79 St. (the north 79 St. entrance) you will immediately encounter (in a children's playground) a statue of three bears - it is a replica of a famous sculpture in the nearby Metropolitan Museum of the three bears sculpture by Paul Manship - originally designed for the entrance to the Bronx Zoo. Continue south staying cn the path close to Fifth Ave. and you will come to the Alice in Wonderland sculpture loved by children to climb on. Continuing south to the Belvedere Fountain and then on to the Mall where there are sculptures of great writers. There is always a contemporarty sculpture at the exit to the park at the Grand Army Plaza. But the greates sculptures in Central Park are in the Metropolitan Museum (which is in the park).
