Central lodging spot for Hershey, York, Lancaster
Mother in law just asked if we would like to visit Hershey Park in June. We'll likely want to visit Dutch Wonderland, ride the Strasburg RR, and do some food tours like Turkey Hill and Herrs. I live in a very small state, but it appears all of these things are close together. So where would you stay? I'd like someplace that we have options to walk to dinner or just a very short drive. We much prefer local dining to chains. Maybe some nice farm to table type restaurant options.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you have the money to afford it, the Hotel Hershey would be my choice. http://www.thehotelhershey.com/rates/summer.php
There are many other good hotels in the area that may be a bit cheaper.
Check with the staff at your hotel about nearby dining.
You might want to visit Gettysburg if you have an interest in the local history.

I'd love to visit Gettysburg, but we'll save that trip for when the boys are older...they will only be 3 and 4 on this vacation.
I looked at the two Hershey hotels and they are soooo pricy. We don't spend much time in the rooms other than to sleep and shower, so I hate to pay that much.

Hmmm, just looked at the map again. Where we are so close, maybe a side trip to Gettysburg would be a good idea. Just keep it short and casual and then visit it again in depth when the boys are older.

I found just the spot for you! The Red Rose Motel in Elizabethtown. http://redrosemotelelizabethtown.com/
Centrally located and a quiet little town. I like the brick construction. The price looks a lot better too.
