Cell phones in the Keys?

Do cell phones work in the Keys?

look at your service's map. You are not going to mars. Many people use cell phones only in Florida.

My Verizon works in the Keys

My Cingular worked there in January.

Lil: Thank you for your sarcastic answer. Considering many cell phones do not work in the "northern woods", I was unsure about reception in the islands. I thought this would be a good forum to inquire.

Thanks SusQ and mc.

You should be ok in the Keys--sometimes you have to walk outside of your hotel room.

And I do understand your question, we were 3 couples in Northern Calif last Oct with 3 different providers of cell phones and none of us could get a signal. And my phone never works in the mountains of Northern Ga.

I think this was a legit question

Lighten up krukab. Once you get to the Keys you'll realize how silly your question is. Do cell phones work in the Keys? That's a pretty broad question. You're not asking if service is spotty in places, you're asking if cell phones work at all in the Keys. I'm sorry but I agree with LilMsFoodie on this one.

My cell phone sometimes doesn't work in my office. And sometimes it does. My office is in a major metro city. Same for my co-worker and her phone on another service provider.

I'm resolved to believe that no cell phone service works every where all the time. If it is that important to have service - get a satellite phone.

LMF is right. Check your provider's map. You are still in the mainland US! I live about 20 miles from NYC and have almost no reception from Verizon in my house! Can you hear me now? "NO!"

The Keys are not "in the islands". However. my cell phone even worked in some parts of the USVI.

I was just in Key West two weekends ago and my Nextel service worked everywhere. I really don't think you'll have a problem whatsoever.
