Cell phone signal in Yosemite Valley?
#3
The only place I would count on getting signal would be at Tunnel View. http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/viewpoints.htm
Make sure the people who normally call you know that you are in Yosemite and may not be available. Call them back at them end of the day and tell them what a great day you had.

It REALLY depends on your carrier. (Tunnel View isn't better than other areas)
Verizon probably has the best coverage - not everywhere but pretty good. AT&T also has some. Most others - little or none. The YNP website may have updated info.

Thanks for reminding me about this. Ugh, it's not been pretty over the years. It used to be, in the old analog days, the ONLY phones that would work were AT&T. We had T-Mobile at the time and got nada, zippo reception. We brought walkie talkies to communicate!
After that technology went out with the dinosaurs, AT&T's reception dropped to a distant third behind Verizon and Sprint. About the time we switched to AT&T.
Lately, since we still have AT&T, in the Valley we get sporadic moments of clarity and other moments where you want to throw the phone in the Merced.
