Cell phone service in Maui and the Big Island

Does anyone have recent experience with AT&T and Verizon service? Thanks for any help.

We have AT&T and have never had any problems on any of the islands, although we haven't been to the Big Island.

Both work fine on most areas of both islands.

It's just like the cell phone service elsewhere. In the towns and on the main roads and beaches service is fine, but in some remote parts, maybe not. It is, after all, part of the United States. You will have to dial 1 plus the Hawaiian area code and phone number to call locally, of course.

We have AT&T. On the BI, the area west of Honokaa toward Waipio Valley is a dead zone and the eastern-most area of Puna-i.e. Kapoho is sometimes ok sometimes not. Everywhere elso on BI--we've had no problem.
