Celebration Hotel.. I need opinions

Has anyone stayed at the Celebration Hotel in... Celebration, Florida
Guess the "technical name" is Bohemian Hotel-Celebration. I think it is actually a Marriott????

I'd like to know what people think of it..rooms, service, parking, food.

Noted that it is called a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel.

Do you get complementary transportation to the parks and early opening privileges??? I think you have to pay for the transportation which isn't a big deal. I'd drive anyway.

Do you have to pay for parking.
Is there a "resort fee" tacked on to the room fee?

Anything else one would want to volunteer about this resort would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Frank

I used to stay there on business. Really enjoyed the hotel. It was easy to get in and out, lots of restaurant options just step away in the town of Celebration and it's a lovely property. We used it as our "interview" hotel for those reasons.

I was curious about your questions so checked it out online and it's now a Kessler property. I think that's a good thing in terms of service and ameneties.

Most of your questions can be answered by checking out the website. Parking is $8 for self parking and $13 for valet.

You can purchase the shuttle to the parks and can buy Disney tickets in the lobby. It doesn't look like the Good Neighbor status means early opening http://disneydestinationsales.com/ec...tions/GNH.html

It's a lovely, quiet, elegant property. Small pool. I love the tea they used to serve.

I doubt there's a "resort" fee because it's not really a resort, but call the 800# and ask. The staff was always very helpful.

Just wondering why you would consider that hotel versus one of the Disney hotels, if in fact your intent is to visit Disney?

We'll usually stop in Celebration for a dinner whenever we are down there. It is a nice little town. But, unless your intent is to avoid the Disney hotel crowds, etc. - not sure what the benefit would be.

I looked and couldn't find that. Can you send me a link???

Thinking of staying there to do something different.
I've heard Celebration is a very nice place to visit and that it's like 10 minutes to Disney.
Saw the hotel. It's in the middle of everything in Celebration.

Thanks.

Be sure to eat at the Columbia when you are there -

They have a fabulous white sangria there :-)

We ate at a seafood restaurant there and a friend from Boston (now living in Florida) said they had great littleneck clams - almost as good as the ones at home.

What *we* liked about the hotel was...
a very nice hotel, with great service, in and out easily.

I think visitors to Disney parks would like the above too as well as none of the usual Disney craziness. Nice hotel. Good restaurants just a stroll away.

We like the town and have eaten at Cafe D'Antonio on several visits to the area. Not sure I'd pick it though if traveling with young kids, if in fact that's the case. I would make sure that they are included in the Extra Magic hours, if that's something important to you/

BTW, it's not exactly 10 minutes to the Disney parks, though it isn't that far from the Disney Wide World of Sports complex.

You can hit a bit of traffic on 192.

All Super information. Thanks a bunch. I DO appreciate it.
It will be just my wife and me. We were looking for something a bit "tamer" than the Disney scene. I've heard so much about Celebration, we thought we'd give it a try.
Thanks again,
Frank

I think you'll enjoy it Frank. I've not been there since it became a Kessler, but having stayed at a Kessler hotel last fall I think it will only have improved the place.

Let me know if they still serve Mighty Leaf teas. I became such a fan I called the hotel to find the name and ordered the tea when I got home.
