Cedar Key Recommendations Sought

My husband and I are planning a 2-night trip to Cedar Key this summer and would appreciate some tips from folks who have stayed there recently. We're looking for top-notch lodging, shopping, sightseeing and dining recommendations. I'm a b&b "quaint and rustic" kind of gal. My husband is a Four Seasons/Ritz Carlton kind of guy. So... being that there are no four star hotels in CK, the best, most luxurious inn would be the ticket for us! We also love small, inventive restaurants and cafes with top-notch service. Additional tips on great art galleries, antique shops, tours and places of interest would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks, in advance.

I've only been there once but my distinct impression is that Cedar Key is extremely laid back and casual - nothing fancy about it at all! Your hubby may be very disapointed.

Cedar Key is a very laid back and informal place . . .most folks are on their fishing boats. . .motorcycles frequent the restaurants/bars on weekends.
It has a very warm, welcoming community with great unique shops.
Hopefully, this webpage will give you more information.
Dinner jackets will definitely not be a requirement!

Thanks to both of you. We like laid back. He just likes it on fine linens! Jacket not required. If anyone has recent experience with particular B&Bs, hotels and/or restaurants, pls let us know. Thanks.

You should go to trip advisor to see what others have said about Cedar Key before deciding what to do. There is quite a bit of feedback there.

Thanks, ThurstonBB. I did find some great info at TripAdvisor. Appreciate the tip.
