Cearwater Beach Restaurants?
 

I'm going to visit. Where are the good local and fish restaurants?

Hi Larry<BR>Go deep sea fishing (it's reasonable and they teach you how) and then Crabby Bills, on the roundabout in Clearwater Beach, will prepare your fish for you along with sides for a great price. You just sit outside and have tall cool drinks while your fresh meal is prepared. Have fun!

joe, don't you mean Heilman's Beachcomber? Even better would be Bobby's Bistro, located behind the dad's restaurant.

Just nake sure you don't go to Cooter's. It's the first time in my life I actually left after the appetizer because the food was so bad! We enjoyed all of the Frenchie's restaurants, though.

Where do you people recommend a family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) stay in Clearwater Beach?<BR>Is the Adam's Mark a good choice? I looked up the Clearwater Beach Hotel on the internet, rates are significantly more than Adam's Mark. Does anyone have any suggestions?<BR>Just thought I'd tag this onto the above restaurant post. Thanks.

I'd like some info about places to stay too! We are 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We were thinking of St. Pete Beach. Any suggestions???

We liked the Sharaton Sand Key in Clearwater Beach. It has a huge, huge beach and they set up nets for volleyball, etc. They also set up lounge chairs at the shore. It is on the Trolley route that runs all the way to St Pete. If interested, ask for a water view. Of course with teens you might want to check condo's.

CD, Thanks for the reply. Do you think Clearwater is better than St. Pete Beach? The beach, stuff to do, etc. is better?

Lisa<BR>I would do a search here on Foder's. Type in the box up top "Clearwater Beach" and hit "go" and then do the same for "St Pete". You will get tons of information! Clearwater Beach is better than Clearwater but as far as being better than St Pete, ? I guess it would be a personal thing. Hope this helps.

Larry, Frenchy's. There are two or three locations on the beach and all are good. Try the grouper sandwich.

Sheraton Sand Key is excellent hotel with great beach. However, note that the "chairs they set up on the beach" are actually set up by a vendor and if you want to use one it will cost you $20 A DAY for rental. This is typical at all the hotels though, not just the Sheraton. Just take a towel to the beach and lay on it. The hotel itself is very good and good location. Use the trolley to get around along the beach. Buy the $3 all day pass. Single rides are $1.25 so the pass is worth it.<BR><BR>Really cheap and really good food at the Crab Shack in St Petersburg. NOTE not Joes Crab Shack that is a poor food quality chain that is all over the US. Be sure to go to the Crab Shack. It is over on Tampa Bay north of downtown St Pete. It is really good food and very inexpenive. Example: two of us, beer while wating for table, appetizer (split), two full meals, another beer with meal, and the whole tab was under $20. What a deal that is and the food was really good all fresh sea food.
