Does anyone know of an inexpensive (not rundown) place to stay in Avalon?

I would recomend the Catalina Island Inn - very clean & comfortable when we were there in April -- I would not recomend staying at the MacRae Hotel (some what rundown - I was not very happy with the room we had on a previous trip 2 years ago.)

Isn't there a B&B..Zane Grey? Seems to me friends stayed there years ago and loved it.

The Zane Grey is great. But it's not a B&B and it's not inexpensive.

Zane Gray is not easilly acessible to the town without a cart. I thought it smelled musty when we visited. The Pavillion Lodge sounds like a match for your request. It would be a good idea to search on the chamber website and view the pictures as the accomodations really vary there. some of the lower end are pretty funky!
