Catalina hotel with pool
We stayed in a great little hotel about 20 years ago, and I can't seem to find it online...can't remember the name. They had little cottages for rooms and a pool...I remember not many (if any) other hotels had a pool at that time. Anyone have any ideas which hotel this was?

OMG ekt..
I used to stay at 'La Casitas' Hotel all the time back in the day and it was a wonderful place to stay across from the golf course and all the bungalows were all in the gorgeous 1920's, Spanish/Moorish design.. It's now a place for Employee Housing and a Fire Department and Center. Love Avalon.. Great website and webcam.. visitcatalinaisland.com |
Yes, it was La Casitas, stayed there many times. Ah, the memories.
Now we stay at Pavilion Lodge, and enjoy the large grass patio in the middle of the hotel, located just off the boardwalk. |
Just returned and stayed at Hamilton Cove. It's a good place for families and the pool looked nice; but would rather stay in town next time. Has anyone stayed in the Metropole? The jazz festival was great.

Hi MBnancy!
Great memories of La Casitas..playing tennis and just having a blast. Love the Pavillon Lodge..stayed there once and really enjoyed it..love that big patch of grass. I'm craving a burger and beer at Eric's. :) Hotel Metropole is great. Best Western up by the golf course is nice as well. Hamilton Cove is really nice but you have to a golf cart or take the water taxi. |
TT:
Eric's on the Pier...I like the double/double. Hamburger patty, and grilled hot dog, split in half on a bun, together with cheese and chili, etc. Be still my heart! |
MB..
First thing we do after anchoring, get the dinghy out and head straight to Eric's for the double double and a cold beer..my mouth is just watering thinking about it! We end up at another fav and that is the Marlin Club..one of the best dive bars in the world! MB..I think we hang in similar places. ;) |
