Yes Disneyland and DCA were very fun!

Our favorite thing on Catalina was the Jeep Eco Tour. That was amazing. Saw several bison and a fox ran by our Jeep. Beautiful views!

Also really enjoyed the mini golf, the sub tour to see the fish, and our tour of the Casino. Can’t wait to go back!

I thought I'd let you know that we loved the Snug Harbor Inn since you guys were curious about it. It was about a minute walk to both Bluewater and Steve's, and our room had a little sitting area with a view of the Casino and the water. The service was amazing; they brought us nice breakfasts every morning with freshly made bread - lemon poppyseed, orange, etc. along with coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, and fresh berries. Also brought beautiful cheese platters with wine in the afternoon - had other things too like hummus, olives, tapenade, etc. There was supposed to be a wine gathering every afternoon, but since it was low season, they just delivered to our rooms. Part of the time we had the entire inn to ourselves which was pretty fun! Room was small but very comfortable with a jacuzzi tub and a flat screen t.v. All the staff were friendly and really helpful. I'd recommend it. If you're noise sensitive, maybe request a room away from the club that's on the same street. They provide ear plugs and a white noise machine if you want to use those. The club didn't really bother us, but we could hear people leaving and talking when it closed. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks again for all the great help. Catalina is one of our favorite places now.

Thanks for reporting back.

Thanks for all the great help! We tried to go see the flying fish too, but none of the boats were running after Labor Day. I'd like to go back and do that someday.

Thought you might like to see some of the bad boys we saw on the Jeep Eco Tour. They were pretty close!

Ok, Volcanogirl, great pics! Now you've really sold me... I even lived in Southern California and I just never went.

volcanogirl Oct 25th, 2018 09:18 AM

Thanks, 5, I hope you get the chance to go!

Glad you enjoyed your visit! The pictures make me long to return....

Thanks, r - and thanks for all your help on this thread. They're building a new big Vons on the island. The locals seemed really excited about it!

Hi, all - I started a new thread looking for places that have similarities to Catalina. If you have any ideas of places that you loved and would recommend, would you mind chiming in? Thanks for any recommendations you can give me. I'm a bit stumped.

My DD and SIL were just in Catalina for the weekend. The ferry over was so rough, people were getting sick and then they stopped the ferry service for a couple of days. They did get to dive which reason they went- water was very cold but they did get to do it. Ferry back up and running.

volcanogirl, your photos are great!
I checked out the website of Snug Harbor Inn. The bedrooms look like they are right out of a designer magazine. Thanks for your feed back.

Thanks, nana, we loved it there; it's a very special spot. The people that worked there were so sweet too.
