It is a pretty good choice for KW. They have there own beach, and it is probably the best beach in KW (none are great). Their pool area is also nice. Location is not that great, although KW is small and everything is relatively close to everything. It is at the south end of the island, where much of duval street and the sunset pier are on the north, still walkable, better with a bike, even better with a scooter. You probably picked the best place to stay with the most going on when all things are considered.

you must eat at blue heaven and pepe's (both are great) for breakfast.

Having two teenagers I would stay on the other end, closer to Mallory Sqaure. That way they have much more around them that they can walk to and explore on their own

Scooters are very dangerous and I would not want my teen on one. I agree with the above post to find something on the other side.

B&B's are the way to go there. Stay away from the larger hotels and motels.

it's a fine hotel. have the key lime pie while your down there and visit hemmingway's place. fyi...not the sandiest beach in the world. under the water is pretty full of rocks and coral so snorkeling is good, but be prepared to kick back by the pool. enjoy.
