Casa Grande in Florida Keys?
Has anyone ever stayed at the Casa Grande, a bed in breakfast in the Florida Keys. Or... what is your favorite place to stay in the keys, and why?

Thanks! My husband and I are thinking about going there for our anniversary, the pictures look beautiful.

I have not heard of Casa Grande, which Key is it on? If you go to Athenahouse.com on aol you might find it to your liking.

Marie: I've not heard of it, either. I see it's on the ocean side of Big Pine Key...I don't think I've ever poked around down there.

I agree: The pictures and description make it look rather nice. If you go, I hope you'll report back to us....

I rented a house near Casa Grande a few years ago and that area was very nice, and the canal we were on was very clean and swimmable. You're about 30 miles north of Key West, which is good if you want a laid back atmosphere and don't mind driving everywhere, but bad if you want to spend a lot of time in Key West and walk everywhere. I love the Big Pine Key area, with its snorkel trips out to Looe Key Marine Sanctuary and seeing the little Key deer at dusk.

I did a search on this board and found one response by a person who'd stayed there. She/he said they'd liked it a lot and that it was in a non-commercial area...I assume a little isolated. You can pull it up by just searching for Casa Grande in Florida. It's under a thread headed "lower keys" or something like that.

My personal favorite key is Key West because it allows you to do as much or as little as you like. We love good restaurants and there are tons of them there.
