Carson Ridge Cabins near Portland, OR

Is anyone familiar with this property? I have read TA, looking for some other opinions.

Is the food good? How remote is it? Is it quiet? Family or couple oriented? Are the cabins secluded and private or pretty close together?

Thank you.

The website I found answers most of your questions. The cabins are quite luxurious, with king size beds-couples only. The price weekdays $210 weekends $225 and up. Cabins look to be spaced about 20-30 feet apart. The B&B is on the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge about 6 miles east of the "Bridge of the Gods". They seem to push spa treatments instead of food.
It depends on what you are looking for in the Columbia Gorge.
You can certainly do better for price in the Gorge but maybe not for luxury and pampering. I only stay in that area when I am flying in/out of PDX. Hood River Oregon has some nice places, with closer restaurants.

Cmcfong,

I haven't stayed at the Carson Ridge Cabins because, having lived my entire life in the NW, I know that they are located someplace I don't want to spend time. When I stay in the Columbia River Gorge, I book a room with a balcony overlooking the river.

Also, if the Carson Ridge Cabins were a great place to stay, I would expect there to be more than four reviews posted for them on TripAdvisor in the last fifteen months.

I hope you won't be annoyed that I responded to your inquiry.

I never depend on who/how many reviews there are on TripAdvisor .. judging by the amount of owners/relatives of owners/friends of owners who post rave reviews for some properties. I see this in Oregon too.. let me see if friends I have in Portland can be helpful ..
Tom .. I had forgotten that name.. The Bridge of the Gods..sighing .. it is hot here, I wish I were up there in that area, so green, so cool :- )

I have friends in Portland who also stay in hotels in Portland, let me see if any have something helpful for you ..

I have not stayed there, but they look great! As for location, I personally love the area as there is so much stuff to do outdoors, which I know you love too. We have backpacked in the general area and I love it. I think the cabins are a great addition to the area, especially near the hot springs. The lodging at the hot springs is very bare bones, so this of course is a nice new addition. Since I haven't stayed there I can't comment on the food and such, but it is in a quiet area although not remote. Definitely a couples atmosphere. For what I know about you, I think this is a perfect match! Can I tag along

I agree with you, Scarlett. Many appealing properties at which I have stayed over the years have few TA reviews..in fact some aren't even on TA. I read TA, but have never considered it the final word. One reason I solicit opinions on Fodors is I recognize the posters which is useful in weighting opinions.
mms, you are so helpful. We want to do hiking and come home to comfort and quiet. But good food and drink is a part of our trip plan as well. I appreciate the feedback very much. One of our group will be in the area next month to check out the property. Your feedback assures me she won't be wasting her time.
Thank you!

I know what you mean cmc .. I am a DE on TA but still enjoy the opinions from Fodorites that I have gotten to "know" over the years.
Those who are helpful and not so.

cmcfong--If your friend doesn't make it out here for whatever reason, let me know and I would be more than willing to go check them out. They are right up my alley, lol! When are you thinking of for this trip?

I would like to introduce myself as Latisha, the property owner. Unfortunately I happened upon this review a little too late. But for any future readers, it would give us great pleasure to welcome you to Carson Ridge, or give you a tour if you happen to be in the area.

To answer some of the questions. We are not remote, we are located in the town of Carson and only 45 minutes from the Portland airport. We specialize in romantic getaways and have received several awards for this. We are not a family retreat. The cabins and landscaping were designed to create privacy. tWe only serve breakfasts at our place, however there are many great restaurants anywhere from a 5 minute to 25 minute drive away.

As tomfuller says above, our website has a lot of information about what and who we are. However if you still have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly: 509-427-7777

We guarantee 100% satisfaction with your stay here. If something does not meet your expectation while you stay we us, we will do everything we can to rectify it. If that is not possible, your stay is on us.

It would give us great pleasure to welcome you!
