I took a day trip out to Carson City when I was out in Tahoe, and was not overly impressed. I preferred my time in Tahoe much more.

I live in Reno, and no,I wouldn`t go to Carson City. I wouldn`t go to Reno either. Stay in Tahoe, it`s beautiful. You might try Truckee for a day trip. It`s a cute little town. I like Nevada City too.
