Carry on food
I saw the recent post regarding taking prepared food onto an airplane. However, it did not address whether I can make my own sandwich and get that through security.
Is there any difference according to the TSA? |
In September we carried on snacks as well as meals in take-out boxes. Is this something new?

I didn't see anything about this on the TSA website. Anyone have a link to the statement that this is not allowed?

This question has been asked many times and the answer is that yes, you can take food on the plane. You cannot bring drinks larger than 3 oz that were brought from home; those must be purchased after you pass through security.
You can take sandwiches, nuts, chips, crackers, cookies, fruit, muffins etc. From TSA.GOV -- "Beverages brought from home or purchased before reaching the security checkpoint in a 3 oz. or smaller container and in your quart-size, zip-top plastic bag. Canned or jarred goods such as soup, sauces, peanut butter, fruits, vegetables and jellies; cheese in pressurized containers; jello; pudding; whipped cream; yogurt or gel like substances - Yes, in 3 oz or less containers." Hope this helps... Debi |
A sandwich has never been restricted, as far as I know.
