Carmel restaurant suggestion

Hello --

Hubby and I have one night in Carmel for a special getaway sans kids. Will be staying at Tickle Pink. I'm looking for "da bomb" restaurant for a special dinner. Any suggestions will be appreciated. We'll be there in late February. Thanks in advance.

We had a great meal at Casanova's - very quaint and romantic. Here is a link to their website: http://www.casanovarestaurant.com/

Lucky you! We stayed at the TPI in September. Very nice. Make sure you plan on attending the wine and cheese reception held in the terrace room. It's very nice and included with your room price. ((f))

I would suggest two "bomb" restaurants. The first would be the Sierra Mar @ the Post Ranch Inn. If you want outstanding food with excellent views, this is the place for you! :)

The other choice would be the new L'Auberge Carmel restaurant. I have not tried it yet, but will be soon. www.laubergecarmel.com ((r))

We had Room 15 at TPI, right in the middle of the property and the views from our patio were just amazing. ***kim*** ((*))

Oops, hit post too soon, we also had a wonderful lunch at Casanova. We dined out on the back patio. I had the sea bass salad which was wonderful along with a local Georis Sauv Blanc. The wines from St. Julien in the area were also very good and were the featured wines with our reception at TPI. ***kim*** ((l))

Gracias. We're considering Casanova along with Rio Grill, Grasings and Bouchee. If you had to choose just one, which would it be????

Definitely Bouchee. No to Rio Grill, not in the same category as Bouchee, I've heard Grasings is becoming passe and Bouchee is the top place in Carmel right now right under L'Auberge. :)

This will sounds really strange, but we were all set to go to Bouchee and our car battery died. Big disappointment, but we had Sierra Mar the next night so I wasn't too disappointed. Definitely Bouchee on that list. Have you considered the Pacific's Edge at the Highland's Inn? It was very good and the views are amazing. ***kim*** :)

Kimamom, what makes you recommend Bouchee over Grasing? is is passe in decor or food or just the crowd?
