Carmel/Monterey for 4 days

My husband and I will be in Carmel/Monterey for 4 days. Any recommendations for an itinerary. I would like 1 day in Carmel to shop and 1 day for Monterey Bay aquarium.
We're staying at Tickle Pink Inn for the first night or two and then we need suggestions. All suggestions are welcome.

What time of year are you going to be here?
No matter what time of year I'd include a day in Big Sur for sure. A drive through Carmel Valley for wine tasting is always nice. If you are interested in California history an hour or two at the Carmel Mission, in the spring it is very beautiful. I wouldn't miss a hike and a picnic at Point Lobos. Just park your car on the ocean side ( you'll see when you get there) have your picnic while watching the waves crash over the rocks, then hike over to the point near seal rock. Sounds so good maybe I'll do it next weekend!
Just don't climb on the rocks in the wave zone. Every year many tourists have to be rescued while doing this. You'd be amazed at the parents that let there kids climb in the tide pools unaware that a rogue wave can come in at anytime. Hope this was helpful.

In adition to viamar's god suggestions, while enjoying the scenery of Big Sur, also go down for a tour a Hearst Castle. You can stay the night in Cambria and tour the Castle the next day. Other things I'd consider are 17 Mile Drive, and Fisherman's Wharf.

If you are in Carmel on a warm evening try dinner at the Forge in the Forest and sit outside by one of the many outdoor fireplaces.

Point Lobos State Park is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

We'll be going from April 17-21st. Thanks for all your recommendations. We'll make reservations for Forge in the Forest restaurant. Where do you recommend we stay the last 2 nights? We're staying in Carmel the first 2 and can't decide the best location for the last 2 nights. Thanks for all your suggestions.
