I will be in Carmel for two nights... I am wondering where we should go for dinner? I was told that Clint Eastwood owns a restaraunt... My husband is a big fan, is it any good? Should we go for dinner or lunch? other than 17 mile drive is there anything else that is a must see?

The Mission Ranch Inn restaurant is a popular dining establishment that serves well prepared American fare. My family and I enjoyed our meal there as well as walking the property before dinner.

Here's a link that may help you:

We were just in Carmel the end of June. Didn't go to CE's restaurant but we enjoyed our brief w/e there.

my daughter recently ate at Mission Ranch- thought it was great and wonderful views

I think he owns another one also - the Hogsbreath - but I dont know anything about it

I was just talking to two people who separately ate at Bistro Moulin (neither knew the other had been there) and they both raved about it. It's actually in Monterey, which is only about 5 miles from Carmel.

Thank-you... I made a reservation at bistro Moulin and I was told that Mission Ranch does not take reservations. Thanks for the help.

Other must sees:

Point Lobos State Reserve

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Pacific Grove beach-side walking trail

A drive into Carmel Valley

Carmel Beach

Have fun!

Jennifer, the food at Mission Ranch will pale in comparison to that in the restaurants you have chosen in SF, but it is owned by Eastwood and we have seen him in there on a couple of occasions.

Ditto montereybob's recommendations and will add Carmel Mission and Carmel River Beach (which could be combined with a meal at Mission Ranch).

Eastwood has not owned the Hogs Breath for many years, although tourists still go there based on the misunderstanding that he still owns it.

Thank you for all your input... very excited!!

Oh FYI Mission Ranch is not open for lunch, although it does do brunch on Sundays, so dinner would be your only option (except on Sunday).

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 04:59 PM.
