Carlsbad Hotels/Eats

Been to the Carlsbad Inn a couple of years ago. Any recommnedations on other places to stay? There are 4 of us, including a 10 and 5 year-old. Thanks. Oh, any good restaurants are in the area?

we stayed at the days inn..... good location if you're going to the caverns as it's on the outskirts of town. indoor pool/hottub; fairly new looking and decent prices.

It may be a chain, but the new Hilton Garden Inn in Carlsbad, just south of Palomar Airport Road, is great. Nice pool, good reastarant. Frig & microwave in all rooms. It is right across the street from the beach, model airplane fliers use the beach cliff here to fly their creations, fun to watch. Lots of restaurants & the Outlet shopping mall right there. Just up the road is Legoland.

Thanks for the replys. I stayed at the Carlsbad Hilton Garden Inn. Nice room, view of the ocean, great location. Got a rate of $129 night. Lots of good food - Dini's, Fish House, Palomar Airport Grill etc.

want good pizza - drive south to solana beach and go to pizza port on pch. i'd go early afternoon as it can get very crowded and noisey.
