Cardozo Hotel. South Beach
 

I have been looking for a hotel on Ocean Drive for my srat in February. I have it down to the Cardozo and the Beacon. I have been heavily leaning toward the Cardozo because I thought that it might be a bit more quiet on that area of Ocean Drive as well as more convenient to the Lincoln Mall area. Is this a better choice? Is the restaurant Orient At Cardozo pretty good also, or just another sidewalk cafe along Ocean Drive?

Hopefully rjw will see this because he used to stay at The Cordozo quite a bit.

The location is a bit better for the northern end of South Beach.

As far as quality of hotel, I think they are both about the same.

I have stayed there a lot in the past few years but as of lately we have notice it has gone down hill. The some of the rooms need new furniture and they are not as clean as they use to be. The restaurant is o.k. but it is nothing I would go out of my way for. If you want quiet, get a room on the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor rooms get a lot of the street noise and restaurant noise.

Thanks for the replies. Is Oriente a newer restaurant? I can't say that I ever heartd of it before looking into the Cardozo Hotel.

I would guess it opened about 1 1/2 years ago.
