car service from LaG for six ?
What is the best way for our group to get to Manhattan from the airport? Recently, I read some responses to taxi vs. car service (for two) and most recommended a taxi. What is the best strategy for a party of six?

You wil not all fit into a cab so you would have to take 2. Cab fares are metered from LGA and will cost about
$25-27 each including toll and tip, depending on where you're going and the traffic.
If you call a car service such as Carmel or Tel Aviv, you can order a minivan or station wagon to fit all of you. Price will be a set fare so there's no concern about the metered fare if traffic is really bad, and you can all travel together.
According to Carmel's website, for example
http://www.carmelcarservice.com/
a minivan TO the airport is $45 but check for the exact price FROM the airport (sometimes differs by a few dollars)
And you need to add $4 toll if a paid bridge or tunnel is used, plus 15% tip, (but also note that the website usually has a coupon for $3 or $4 off the fare)
There are many other companies people can recommend, and they're usually comparable in rate

Also, be careful to get details about how much you might be charged by the car service for waiting time. If your flight is delayed, the driver may try to add on a surprising amount. Be prepared to carry your luggage to wherever the driver had to park. They cannot park right at the curb by the terminal.

An update on Tel Aviv -- used them this week and they were right on time, but the guy who picked us up tried to include an extra tip for himself to the tune of $9 (after already including a tip in the total!!). The guy who brought us back to LaGuardia (at 5am) did not even include a tip in his final price! Guess it just depends on who's driving. Cars are clean, maybe not brand-new, but fine. Check their web site for a coupon (our fare from mid-town to LaGuardia was 24 with coupon). Happy trails!

I will be traveling in November and will have 5 people. Is there a website for TelAviv? I am already very gullable and don't need a driver trying to take advantage of 5 women before we start a great vacation. Thanks for letting me tagging on and getting some info!
