Car rentals in Fort Myers, Florida

We are traveling to Fort myers with 3 kids in April and need to get a rental car. We need a full size SUV to accomodate all the car seats...we don't have any small boosters yet. Does anyone know of the best deals for a car? Everything I am finding is around $800 - $900. Yikes!

Thanks.

Look at an Enterprise location in town. When we were wintering in Naples, it was much cheaper to rent in town than at the airport because of all the fees and taxes.

try Orbitz for a comparison of prices or look at Costco, Entertainment Books, Sam's Club or any travel site that competes for pricing... I also have used Enterprise away from the Airport...

One of my friend recently rented a car from vipcars.com . I have never rented from them but still suggesting you, as my friend was happy with their services. All the best and have a safe journey.

$800 for what, a day? A week? Ten days, two weeks? Watch for April deals to pop up early March......meanwhile let us know the dates if you want more help.

Sorry, I did not include the amount of time we will be there. We will be there for 9 days. Thanks for the feedback so far. I begin my hunt for a better price. If there is any other feedback, certainly let me know. Thanks again!

I just hired two cars. One in Ft. Lauerdale, 3/30-4/6 for $212. [A compact] Then one in Santa FE,4/12-4/19 for $174 [mid-size]. This time I use kayak.com that lead to Hotwire. Each time, on arrival, pick-up was rented off airport, with drop-off at airport. It worked out much cheaper. The off airport was five-seven miles away and we will just take a cab.

P.S. No money up front and cancellation at any time if a better price was found.

Avis has a "standard SUV" listed at lower prices than the large SUV, says Chevy Equinox or similar, seats 5 adults? You might stop by a Chevy Dealer to see how big they are. Use K817625 as a discount code for Avis. (airline frequent flyer discount)
