Car Rentals at Lihue

Well, I've had the tickets for almost 1 year and suddenly I realized...I forgot to rent a car. Does anyone know which car rental companies are represented in Kauai?

Any suggestions are appreciated--There are 2 of us + one tall 14 yr old (6'2") so we need room for us and couple of bags & 2 golf bags.

Anyone?

We just returned from two weeks on Kauai. I believe most of the car rental companies are represented there. As we were returning our car I remember driving by several rental agencies: Hertz, Avis, Alamo, National, etc. We rented from Budget and got a great rate. I always check Travelocity and that way I see which company has the best rate. Then I go directly to that company's website and usually find a slightly lower rate. Have a great time, we sure enjoyed our two weeks!

Most rental car companies are there. If you belong to a warehouse club like Costco, BJs, Sam's, check there discount codes. If you happen to be staying at a Starwood property (Sheraton, Westin), they have been offering discount rental codes with soem of their packages.

Thanks!

I did look at Costco online but didn't see anything about car rentals. Will check again.

Go to View All, then Travel. There's a rental car spot.

I've found that by far the best rates are through Costco. We've booked with Alamo and got a midsize SUV for $329 for 2 weeks in June, all taxes and fess included. that also includes a second driver at no additional cost. Here's the link to the Costco Rental Car site. Make sure to check out the coupons for additional savings:

We seem to always get our Kauai rental cars from Rent-a-Roach. I swear every car on the island has them.
