Car Rental Rates in Palm Springs
 

Does anyone know why the car rental rates in Palm Springs have gone through the roof? They are 3 times higher than what we usually pay. We have a reservation made in December for a 10 day SUB rental and the rate is $241. If we booked today, it would be $1000. Ouch. Today, an economy car is $500/week. It's usually $150.

I just booked through priceline and got a rate of $15/day but the other sites were quoting $45/day

I too was stunned by the prices. I usually go for 3 weeks a year in May, for the last 10 years it has been between $85 to $120 a week. This Year $485/week!
How exactly does Priceline work? I get the concept but if I ask for $15/day, will they counter that offer?

I was able to find a rental car at a place I had never heard off. I booked it through www.carrentals.com - it was about $100 less than I was seeing anywhere else.

I booked a car through Enterprise last month for a week at a rate of $135. It was the Palm Springs airport location.
