car rental for 19 year old son
 

Does anyone know of a car rental company that will rent to a very responsible 19 year old with a clean driving record? Albuquerque/Santa Fe is his destination choice. I've tried Enterprise on their website and they said No. Thanks.

My gut says that you need to seek out a smaller operation that will flex their rules. When I was 19, I had somebody else rent the car for me.

Remember that your son's name has to be on the contract for him to be insured while driving the vehicle so renting in someone else's name is not a good idea.

I would call a local branch in Sante Fe/Albque and speak to them directly.

At 19 years old he is going to have a hard time.

He might try rent-a-wreck. they're sometimes flexible - the majors usually won;t rent to anyone under 21 - unless you're on a corporate card - no matter how good your record.

You might rent the car for your use and let your son have your car. If his driving record is all that good, then you should have no reservations about so doing.

You can rent the car much cheaper than he can.

If this is a one way rental, you will have to pay quite a bit regardless.
Probably cheaper to fly.
