Car needed in Tampa area?
 

My mom and I are spending four days at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa in Tampa Bay. Will we need to rent a car or are things pretty much close by/good public transportation? We were thinking of going to Clearwater Beach once and maybe St Petes. Thanks!

Nice area but you will definately want the car especially for the trips to Clearwater Beach & St. Pete.<BR><BR>The rides won't be terribly long and the views are nice but tryingto piece-meal the different places with public transporatation will be slow and difficult. <BR><BR>Get the car, relax and enjoy!

You would definitelyy want the car. Not that easy to get around that area on public transportation. Clearwater Beach is very nice, get out to Sand Key also. It is connected to Clearwater Beach by bridge.

Not the fanciest but budget has a special on Pick ups for 19.00 a day that are automatic and come with a cover that you can use to lock the truck bed with to store your luggage.<BR>If you go to dollar rent a car use globe and reduce the price by about 1/3
