Car hire in CT

Looking to hire a car for self drive at the begining of Nov. Any suggestions where to start looking for one?

i think most towns will have rental car agencies. Can you narrow it down to a town or two where you would be picking it up from?

I'm assuming you are not from the US since you called it car hire instead of renting a car.... Any of the big rental car agencies are around (Hertz, Budget, Alamo, Avis, Enterprise, etc). If you are flying in, the easiest thing is to rent at whatever airport you're landing in. Go to the websites of the agencies (some are mentioned above) and see if they have locations convenient to where you will be. You can book the reservations online - very easy.

I like to use www.orbitz.com to search for rental cars. They display a table showing 6-8 rental car co's, a range of car sizes, and the daily price for each.

I then go to a specific rental co website and book there directly.

When comparing prices be sure to consider the following:

Check out if taxes and fees (airport) are included

Find out what the insurance will cost. Since credit cards outside the US don't provide free insurance the rental company will require you to buy collision to protect their car - and unless you're judgement proof (have no assets) you should seriously consider liability insurance

Expect a significant drop off charge if you pick up one place and drop off another

Yea we plan to start in Port Elizabeth and then end in CT. Yes i notice the extra charges if u pick up in one place and drop off in another. Do you think we should keep the car in CT or use cabs in the city and return the car no soon as we reach CT?

BUKU,

You posted this message on the US message board. From you title I assumed you were planning to rent a car in the state of Connecticut (abbreviated CT).

Port Elizabeth is the name of the marine cargo terminal in New Jersey, in the port of NYC.

It now appears that you are visiting South Africa. CT refers to Cape Town. Am I right?

You need to post this message on the Africa board.

Sorry this was meant for the African Board. CT= Cape town. Sorry
