kolohegirl, I thought maybe my post got yanked because I was going off on being offended at the " If the island cleaned up, it would be lovely" comment....as someone who attends neighborhood board meetings and gets involved with local government.

But the main reason I posted was to thank you for saying all that I was thinking, and taking a more civilized tone than I would have! Same to you, lcuy! Long time no see.

I had my little putt-putt broken into ONCE, at night, in front of Kuakini Hospital. It didn't deter me from visiting the hospital or living in the area (which I did at the time, and I loved it).

And remember, there's no such place as Maimanalo!

WOW,,,I am backing off this one!!!! you guys are vicious!!!!!!

Spatz Nov 22nd, 2004 09:37 AM

Hey, enough already! Spatz (I know you called me Spritz) already posted how much she enjoyed Hawaii. You can find more details of our trip under the heading of "Has anyone used a YMT?"
And, I did post here that I LOVED
Hawaii under this thread.
And, no, everyone in Detroit is NOT like those fans at the Pistons/Pacers game!!!

Here's another way of looking at it:
1) If you eat lunch on the pier, the seagulls and other birds swoop in for a bite.
2) If you camp somewhere, the squirrels and raccoons scurry on over for a bite.
3) When you park a rental car in a tourist-dense part of the world, the same thing applies.
In each case, you must protect what is valuable to you.
It is what it is. Just move on.

Except, in HI, #1 and #2 won't apply

(No seagull, squirrels or racoons) :-)

TripleSecDelay Nov 22nd, 2004 02:01 PM

Yes, heretoday, but you understand my point. I'm assuming that most people are traveling to more than just HI and have encountered the various beasts and pests which make up the fringe of the experience.
Wise man say: If you swim in the river, make friends with the alligators.

Kal Nov 22nd, 2004 02:07 PM

3secD,
WHAT!?!?!?! Alligators are breaking into cars on Hawaii??? =-O=-O=-O

Sheesh...is no place safe???

TripleSecDelay Nov 22nd, 2004 03:49 PM

Hey Kal, how 'bout those STEELERS!?

LoveItaly Nov 22nd, 2004 03:57 PM

Oh Kal, I have been waiting for your response, thanks for the laugh of the day!!!!!

lcuy Nov 22nd, 2004 04:18 PM

Hey Kal-

When you come next, we'll have a GTG and go look at the gators up in Nuuanu.

For real!

Lucy

Kal Nov 22nd, 2004 04:20 PM

Steelers? Did they play yesterday? Who won? :-"

L'italy,
My bro in law lives about 3-4 miles away and his car has been egged and broken into numerous times. Everyone should stay away from Nor Cal. :O)

MelissaHI Nov 22nd, 2004 05:40 PM

yes, Kal, us wicked wahines (and PakePorkChop) will break into your car and take you to Nuuanu ... so we can have alligator loco moco!!

Speaking of PakePorkChop...and beasts...and crime in Hawaii....when I was still living with my mom, she would make my breakfast and leave it out on the kitchen table, ready to eat when I woke up. If I woke up too late and PakePorkChop happened to wander in, my breakfast would be history. Talk about being robbed!

lcuy Nov 23rd, 2004 10:57 AM

So, now we know how you and PPC ended up with your current figures, Melissa...(Don't get mad at me PPC! You are still the most handsome one in the family!!!)

How come all the fun is in Yountville this week! Sounds like you guys are gonna get some loco moco, or was it poco loco?? Any way, have fun, take pics, and do a trip report for all the rest of us!
