Capitola - restaurant ideas?

We are going to be in Capitola next weekend. Any suggestions for dinner? Something fun, not to formal, fresh fish? Thank you!

Hi. I live in Aptos, the town next door to Capitola. We really like the Paradise Beach Grill right in the village of Capitola overlooking the beach. It's a bit noisy, very lively, and a good menu. Of course, the really special place in town is The Shadowbrook Restaurant overlooking Capitola village. Folks always go there for anniversaries and special occasions. But it is pricey and a bit formal. Have fun!

I also recommend Shadowbrook. It's a gorgeous place and the food was terrific. We were dressed casually when we went.

Thank you for your suggestions, Ann and Sharon. We have been to Shadowbrook several times and although we enjoy it, it is a little to formal for this trip. Any favorites in the Aptos/Soquel area?

There is a fun place in Santa Cruz (not fancy) called Chocalate. It is downtown adjacent to the bookstore.<BR>I would say getting something from Gayles in the late afternoon and having a pic nic would be the best casual food.I still have not found a place in that area (other than Gayle's) that we love.

Another place my hubby and I enjoy is the Crow's Nest (same owner as Shadowbrook) at the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. We usually eat upstairs in the bar and there are great views of the harbor and the new light house. They also usually have music and dancing in the evenings.
