Hi, I live about 15 minutes from Cape May, alot of the places to stay are Bed and Breakfast, Marquis De Lafayette Hotel (www.marquiscapemay.com) is across from the beach in the center of town. The Grand Hotel is a little farther north, the Atlas Inn (www.atlasinn.com) is not to far. All of the hotels are across the street from the beach.
Some other names of places but I am not sure about are Capri Motor Lodge. Coachman's Motor Inn. Also try this web site www.CapeMayUSA.com Hope this helps. I am going to Cape May this weekend my daughter and I are taking my mom out for her birthday to a Tea Luncheon at the Physick Estate Victorian House Museum, it is a restored 1876 Carriage House. I have lived here all my life and have never been in this house. So if you have any other questions let me know

I have been vacationing in the area for about 40 years. My recommendation for a family of 5 is to try Seapointe Village in Wildwood Crest. Its only minutes from Cape May and its right on a beautiful stretch of beach. The beach is actually more beautiful then Cape May's beach. Cape May is beautiful and quaint, but the beach is better at Seapointe. Also the Wildwood Boardwalk is only a few miles away and your family will certainly love it. Give it some thought. Good Luck.

We love the Montreal Inn, right on beach drive, at the north end. You can walk, or bike, to everything.
|
Might want to check with Billmae cottage. Billmae Cottage · 1015 Washington Street · Cape May, NJ · 609-898-8558
http://www.billmae.com/

Not sure about 5 but they are suites and have kitchen. Accommodate pets too. Nice place and the hosts are wonderful.

-jill

The Chalfonte?
|
Wildwood Crest is an excellent option. Beaches are better than Cape May and also free. You can easily visit Cape May anytime you like; short drive.
|
I second the recommendation of the Chalfonte. No air conditioning, but I've never been uncomfortable when I've stayed. Food is GREAT, if you want to eat in. The experience is genuinely a step into the past. We love it.

We are also vacationing in Cape May this summer. My husband's family has vacationed there for many years and I've tagged along on a few occasions. Their choice has always been the Montreal Inn, but we decided to go with the Atlas. Not sure how much space we'll have (husband, myself, 1 1/2 yr old boy, sis-in-law and her 2 year old), but it's oceanfront and close to everything. Does anyone have info about the Atlas? Thanks!

Dawn

Can you tell more about the Physick Estate? We're going to Ocean City this summer and it sounds like something my 2 sisters in law and I might enjoy. Any other suggestions you might have would be great!
|
Whenever we stay at Cape May with our family we stay at the Palace Suites. We stay in the two room suite that sleeps 8 and has two bathrooms. These rooms face the ocean and I love to sit on the balcony in the morning with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. The hotel is at the corner of Philadelphia and Beach, which on the ocean and a few blocks from the center of town.
|
How about the Inn at Cape May? Anyone stayed there?
|
Hi Kip -

I wish I had your recommendation for Palace Suites before... we almost booked there, but then I saw a pic of the outside of the hotel online and it looked kind of like an old apartment building. We ended up with the Atlas, but I'm afraid it will be cramped quarters for 6 of us!
|
My wife and I stayed at the Inn of Cape May last summer. The place is great, although pricey (but isn't everyplace in Cape May). Its in a great location, right across the street from the beach and beautifully decorated inside. Would heartily recommend it.
|
Cape May? Quaint but old. The accommodations do not have the ammenities you would find in a new hotel. Lots of overpriced shopping and a so so beach. I would opt for Wildwood Crest. Much more to do, especially with children. The beaches are nicer too.

we're going to cape may this july 4 weekend, we're booked at aqua beach resort... any feed back on this?
