Cape cod stay help needed!!

Hello. I'm a widower with a 10 year old daughter and she desperately wants to visit cape cod. She wants a cabin on the ocean with a "very nice fun beach" as she puts it. Any suggestions?? I'm unsure where to start looking.
Thanks in advance!
Dave

When are you planning on going and what type of budget do you have? I would imagine a lot of places are sold out - but with more info I'm sure someone here can make recos.

You should check out www.weneedavacation.com

Here's the result of a very broad search for a 2-3 bedroom house on the beach anywhere on Cape Cod in all budgets, for 'some' week this summer, least to most expensive:

Just to give you a few ideas of beaches that are popular with kids in your daughter's age range ...

Old Silver Beach - on Buzzards Bay in Falmouth
Craigville Beach - on Nantucket Sound in Centerville
West Dennis Beach - on Nantucket Sound in West Dennis
Mayflower Beach - on Cape Cod Bay in Dennis
Skaket Beach - on Cape Cod Bay in Orleans
Nauset Beach - on the Atlantic Ocean in Orleans

Hope this helps you narrow down your search. If you have questions about the beaches (each body of water has its own "personality"), or the various areas of Cape Cod, feel free to ask!

Thanks so much for the responses all. I'm basically looking for a nice clean beach with decent waves and a cottage or something of the sort where we can walk out and be on the beach. I don't have a very deep budget but am willing to do what I can to make this happen for my daughter. Am looking for mid to late August... anyone know if this is a possibility? I'm not familiar with the area and any assistance is greatly appreciated!

My sincere condolences. Understand that in her own grief your young daughter may not know exactly what she wants and may be just throwing out the idea of cape cod at her tender age.

My first thought is Truro/Wellfleet/Provincetown. I recently suggested this place, or rather this area of places that may work for you. This is only one on that strip.

The beach isn't the best, but it is right there for morning and evening strolls and there are many fun places to visit in the area.

another place, that doesn't fit her criteria is a dog friendly place we used to visit. It is motelish with a great view, a clean pool and a nice home base.

This is what you describe, but not necessarily what you want.

I know nothing about this property, but this may be what she is thinking about.

Good luck with your search. Is there a reason she is drawn to Cape Cod? Where are you travelling from?

almost impossible at this late date...

you might find some old fashioned cottages/cabins but usually they are not on the beach..

Did you look on the rental site I gave you?? Budget is going to be a problem. I don't know of Any waterfront or beachfront rentals on the Cape (or anywhere else, really) that are budget choices. Water will cost ya.

Take a look at the We Need A Vacation site and see what you find there.
