Cape Cod - mid cape beaches in July
 

We're staying in the Hyannis area in a few weeks and I was wondering what beaches people like the most. I'd be looking for a beach with a good rest room/changing area, plenty of parking and ideally at least some light food restaurant that offers snacks and beverages.

Are most of the beaches free or do any of them require beach tags/park admission to use?

Our party is four adults and two children and we were bringing some beach chairs but do any of the beaches have chair and umbrella rentals and if so what are the prices?

One of our favorite beaches is Skaket Beach in Orleans but I'm not sure how close that is to where you are staying. It is on the bay side, the water is warm, & at low tide you can walk way out. We've never had a problem with parking but there is a small fee ($10 or $15, I think). There is a snack bar, and restrooms, changing area. I've never been to a beach on the cape that has chair/umbrella rentals.

I also like the National Seashore Beaches, such as Herring Cove & Race Point, but that may be too far from where you are staying.

Sandy Neck is a beautiful beach on the Bay side and I like Dowes Beach in Osterville (though that is resident only) and Craigville in Centerville. Enjoy.

Look at Yarmouth and Dennis beaches too. They will be on the Sound or on the Bay. If want the Atlantic Ocean which will be colder water temps , you'll have to travel out to Orleans, Eastham, etc. Expect to pay a fee.

Hyannis to Orleans usually takes us roughly a half hour, and that's in the off-season when there's less traffic. I prefer the beaches in Orleans or those of the Cape Cod National seashore. Most beaches currently charge about a $15 fee per day.
