Hello Rachel.
Thanks so much for the Maine info. We have rented a house in Portland for four days, and are using this as a base to explore this area, so your post is invaluable. We love exploring and are trying to break up the coast into manageable days trips. There is also a little Rockport to Camden walk we are interested in doing so we are not simply driving from town to town.
Thanks again for the advice.

The water on the Cape is at its warmest in September, so don’t rule out a swim. Brewster tidal flats are spectacular at low tide, when you can walk out for miles, but the beach is only swimmable at high tide. The beaches in nearby Dennis are swimmable at both high and low tide. Brewster also has excellent fresh water swimming at Sheep Pond.

The Sesuit Harbor Cafe mentioned above only takes cash. It is a very informal setting with picnic tables on the harbor inside a marina. There can be long lines.

Hello Nikki.
We were wondering what kind of temperatures to expect in September, so this is very useful. Thank you.
Thank you also for the info on the cafe only accepting cash. It does sound like a fun place to visit.
