I agree with the Cape Cod Chips factory. You can walk through in 15 minutes (as said above) or take more time if you like. I'm fascinated by assembly lines, etc. and stayed at each window for probably 15 minutes each, just watching. It's a simple place for a simple process but fascinating (at least to me). Small gift shop at the end.

If the grands are willing to baby-sit one night, go to Ptown to see David Scarbie Mitchell's show. It is fabulous and I think you will love it. Friends arranged for him to come down for Atlanta Pride and he had sold out shows and, of course, cycled through the parade. He and his partner are two of the nicest people you'll ever want to meet. Here's a recent article about him and his show -

If you choose to take the grands to Ptown - during the day - you may see him on his bike on the street. His 60s inspired outfits with hats are simply fabulous.

<I>"David Scarbie Mitchell in a one man...uh...one woman...one PERSON theatrical experience. Plan to meet Ernestine, Edith Ann, Julia Sugarbaker, Carol Burnett, Eunice Higgins, the sweet transvestite from Rocky Horror, and Scarbie, the alter ego of David Mitchell. It's an amazing show with an underlying story of David Scarbie Mitchell's life journey."</I>

My earlier comments about tour buses unloading scores of grey-haired tourists in Ptown was during Women's Week (third week of October). There are some events scheduled during the week but not anything I can think of that would be a problem for visiting (sheltered) older folks. Things gear up more on weekends, but even then it's Women's Week. Pretty tame for a weekend in Ptown.

Enjoy the cape in October. As said before, it is a glorious time to be there. They may enjoy Art's Dune Tours as well.
