Cape Cod in October, help!
 

My husband and I are planning a trip in mid-October to the Cape. Have never been there before and need advice on where to go? What about Dennisport? Would like to stay on beach at a hotel that has an indoor pool, but not too pricey! Coming from New Jersey, any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Lots of places close up around Oct 10 so don't get caught at a place that's about to shut down for the season...the service usually isn't very good! You might have to stick to one of the more populated towns like Hyannis.

Just a few more ideas:

The Ocean Club at Smugglers Beach
in Yarmouth, or the Red Jacket Beach Resort in South Yarmouth - which seems
to really cater to kids. Also, the Lighthouse Inn in West Dennis looks
exceptional, but might be on the expensive side.

Chatham is a wonderful town to visit while you are there, and a visit to the Cape Cod National Seashore in Eastham would be nice. A day trip out to Nantucket on the high speed Grey Lady would be fun. In fact, there is a nice hotel there with indoor and outdoor pools called the Nantucket Inn. Not sure about the pricing, however.

We always travel to the Cape in October - it is the best time to go. Most of the regular restaurants and shops remain open except for those in the "beach" towns. Dennisport is a good middle spot to travel to all sections of the Cape.

We stayed in Dennisport last year at Colonial Village and loved it. It's a block from the beach but has an indoor pool and sauna. Very peaceful and easy walk to the beach. Also very affordable.
