Cape Cod - Chatham - Lodging

I'm planning a trip to Chatham and have been researching lodging. I'm liking the looks of Captains House Inn or the Hawthorne Motel since it's located on the beach. Any insite of these 2 places or recommendations. Not looking for ultra fancy something quaint & clean with either pool or beach access.

Take a look at the reviews of those two places on tripadvisor.com. Captains House gets glowing reviews and Hawthorne Motel mostly gets poor ones. I find that TA reviews are generally helpful and on the money (with exceptions).

I've stayed at Captains House Inn and would definitely stay there again. It is a beautiful inn and our room was large and well-appointed. We had a little garden in the back. The staff is extremely helpful -- she mostly hires college kids from England and Ireland. Breakfast was hearty and delicious and, most importantly to my husband -- separate tables!! It is convenient to town and beach, but is not on the beach and does not have a pool.

we have had friends of our from Germany stay at Captain's House. They are a very meticulous couple and they loved there stay.

Highly recommend the Captain's House Inn -- beautiful rooms, excellent breakfasts, convenient location. One of the nicest places to stay on the Cape.

Hello,
We are staying at the Captains House in Sept. Looks lovely. Another beautiful place is Cranberry Inn. We have stayed at the Cranberry Inn, Chatham several times. Beautiful Inn! It is on Main St. They even have a small pub/bar on the premises. Breakfast is excellent and the innkeepers are wonderful. You are in walking distance to Main St shopping and dining and a beach. http://www.cranberryinn.com/
Enjoy!
