Cape Cod & Boston

Hello!
My husband and I are leaving in 2 weeks to Boston and the Cape (we're both first timers!). We're staying in Brewster at the Captain Freeman Inn and in Boston at the Colonade Hotel.
Since we're both "newbies" we'd love your suggestions on what to do, see, eat, etc.

Thanks in advance!
Maren

Staying in Brewster, you will be ideally located in the center of mid-cape, lower- cape and outer-cape towns.

Brewster itself has some nice attractions: Drummer Boy Park, CC museum of Natural History and some great places to eat ranging from Cobies to Chillingsworth.

Although there are few public beaches in Brewster there are some great ones in Orleans, next town over. Try to get to Skaket Beach in Orleans at low-tide. You can walk out on the flats over a mile into Cape cod Bay.

You can go to nearby Dennis for a play at the Dennis Playhouse or see Rock King at the Sandbar lounge.

If you have the time try to get to Chatham Village, a Provincetown Whale Watch and the Kennedy Memorial and Kalmus park on Ocean Street in Hyannis.

The thread about Presidential Libraries mentions the JFK library in Boston. It's beautiful. Designed by I.M. Pei and on the waterfront which you can walk.

run a few searches on town names like:
Provincetown
Cjatham
Uarmouh
Sandwhich

You will get all sorts of good ideas. Have fun and relax

Another Boston thought: the North End. It's historic, has wonderful ethnic markets and eateries--mostly Italian, and is very safe.

Right in the Colonade Hotel is Brasserie Jo. One of my favorite places in Boston. Excellent steak frites, escargot and wonderful desserts - the profiteroles with chocolate sauce are frighteningly good.
