I am looking for info on The Inn On The Square in Falmouth or Cape Codder Resort
in Hyannis. Anyone stayed at either or know about them? Thanks.

I have been to Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis for a conference. It is a big hotel on a busy highway some distance from the water. It is close to all kinds of stuff (golf, shopping, antiques, exploring) but not really a destination itself to my mind, but then I don't think most resorts are. It has the advantage of being more or less across the corner from Cooke's Seafood, my favorite fish restaurant.

The Inn on the Square in Falmouth is absolutely charming. Falmouth is a wonderful place to stay. What do you want to do on the Cape?

We have never been to Cape Cod so I suppose
we would like to do the usual tourist things.
We will have 8 adults and 8 children ages 6 to
13.

Are you going in the summer? By that I mean after the 4th of July, If so consider spending part of your time farther out, say Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, North Truro or Provincetown. You will be close to the National Seashore and can take a whale watch from Ptown. You will spend a lot of time in traffic otherwise.

With that many people, you need to rent a cottage or condo. A hotel will bankrupt you if you are staying more than a night or two.

Rent a big enough place, and you can bring along a high school or college girl to help with the kids. This is an old New England tradition, and having someone to take them to the beach or stay with them at night makes it a lot more like a vacation for the adults.

With that many children, though, you should not expect them to do anything but child care -- no cleaning, cooking for anyone except the kids, etc. If the kids are all little, you may need two babysitters. But I still think it will be cheaper than a hotel.
