cap cod - any suggestions to nice hotels???
 

hello, I need suggestions. my husband and I will be travelling around with a car. Have seen so many hotels in booking.com. But I am very confused. Courtyard cap cod, holyday inn near hyannis. I am not sure if we stay at chatham will be too far , to go around and visit all places. Pse give me suggestions. thanks a lot.

If you want like really nice check out Wequasset and Chatham Bars.

Chatham is centrally located and a lovely town, much more so than Hyannis. Agree that Chatham Bars Inn and Wequasset Inn are the nicest places on the Cape. Bring $$$$.

When are you visiting, how long is your stay, and what's your budget? Chatham Bars Inn and Wequasset, although stunning, are really budget busters in the $400-$1,000.00 a night range in the summer months. Is that your cup of tea?

Chatham's a great place to base yourselves; take a look at The Bradford Inn and The Chatham Wayside Inn for rates. The Hawthorne Inn is on the same road as Chatham Bars but much less expensive and with the same water view.

Orleans, the next town to Chatham, has the budget friendly The Cove motel.

Harwich and Dennis also have very budget minded hotels with a more family oriented atmosphere.

Well, i believe around us 200 per night or maybe 250 if it really worths. We want a base in cape cod so can travel all around. We will not stay in the hotel during the day, we intend to go to mv, princetown...thanks for all the help

I've stayed at both the Courtyard and the Holiday Inn. The Courtyard is nicer, but it's a longish drive to Provincetown from Hyannis. The Holiday Inn is an older property but clean. Again, it's not near Provincetown, but it's feasible to get there on a day trip.

I think the Orleans suggestion is a good one, or possibly Eastham. They're located in the more picturesque part of the Cape and will probably fit your budget better than Chatham, although Chatham is probably my favorite town on the Cape. I don't think you'll feel the need to spend time in the Hyannis area when Chatham, Wellfleet, Provincetown, etc are closer at hand and much nicer.

I agree with MareW. If you stay in Orleans or Eastham you will find that the other parts of Cape Cod are much more accessible because the main road goes right through them. You can get to Provincetown or Hyannis in 30 minutes from Eastham so it would be easy to catch a ferry to MV or Nantucket..and you could explore the beautiful National Seashore towns of Wellfleet and Truro to the north, or Chatham, Harwich, Brewster to the south.

Thanks. That is a difficult choice. at Chatham the good hotels are very expensive, and as per I could understand, Courtyard, is far from everything in the middle of nothing. Provincetown, definitely I will visit but is too far to stay and visit the hole cop cod. still lost!!!

What's your budget? That would help. Did you check Four Points in Eastham? There are motels on route 6, totally uncharming, but certainly much less expensive than those in Harwich and Chatham. Did you take a look at the family friendly, also completely uncharming but affordable, choices in Dennis?

I would not stay any where near Hyannis. This hotel in Eastham is in a great location, clean, basic, well kept and comfortable if you are not looking for fancy it is a good bet. http://www.eaglewingmotel.com. Also I would look into http://www.shipskneesinn.com.

This is a fabulous place and although located in Provincetown, I would recommend it...you would be near excellent Whale Watching, interesting shops and restaurants,and The National SeaShore and all it's beaches, bike trails, etc.:

I would pick the Eagle Wing over the Four Points, which was not great the last time I stayed there. The Cove, which Bowsprit mentioned, is a good bet and should be in your price range. Some of the rooms even have something of a water view. I also agree that The Eagle Wing is clean and the rooms are fine. The owners are very "fussy", and it can be a bit offputing sometimes. They have a lot of signs up with various rules on them. But it's a nice enough place to stay if you like it quiet and don't have children with you.

We love Hyannis! Gasp! Nicely located, decent reasonable accomodations, and easy to catch a ferry to the islands. And that's all I'll say on the subject....

I like Hyannis too, but I have yet to see a great hotel recommended for a stay there. Nice place to visit, wouldn't want to lodge there.

There are nice B&B not far from Hyannis and close to the beach. I stayed last year at Inn at Lewis Bay. ([email protected]).

ohhh you are all so nice, to give so many tips, I am checking through internet, all the ideas. Bowsprit asked me about the dates. We will be arriving 2nd october and leaving 5th october. I am still checking all the suggestions as I have plenty of time. thanks everybody.

just one thing. I like to stay in a central place, near of restaurants, and if possible near the sea, the harbour. thanks
