Canyonlands WHALE ROCK a must see!!!!!!!
 

Hi,just thought i would let you all know of the best short hike in Canyonlands with the most fantastic 360 degree view of the park.<BR>It literally took 15 mins to the top and we stayed for an hour on our own, soaking up the view!!!!!<BR>The funny thing was we saw a few cars approach and maybe park and then just drive away leaving us all alone on the top of whale rock.They probably thought it can`t be any good only one car!!!! i am sure whale rock is a hidden secret.<BR>Enjoy, Angie

Whale Rock is in the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands near Upheaval Dome. There is more to this hike than just climing to the top of the Whale. We did the 1 mile round trip and had some awesome views.<BR><BR>http://www.discovermoab.com/canyonlandsnationalpark_hikes.htm<BR><BR>Utahtea

Any accommodation recommendations in the area? Is there anywhere good where we could reach both Arches and Canyonlands?

Moab is perfect for visiting the two parks, as well as visiting Dead Horse Point State Park, also worth a half day or so.
