Canyon Ranch

Some friends and I are considering a girls' vacation at Canyon Ranch. Any tips/experiences to share?

My Mom (50) and her husband (57) have been and they both loved it.

Which one--Tucson or the Berkshires?

I LOVED IT. Went with mother in law, aunt and cousin to Tucson. Do not have a bad thing to say. It is an unbelievable experience. Really mentally and physically moving. If you are going to Tucson, you HAVE TO attend Carlos's Funk Areboics, dont worry if you have no rhythm or have never attended a "real class", Carlos is AMAZING.

Plan and book all of your treatments before you get there.

Have you been to there web site, canyonranch.com, to see the classes that both resorts offer? What are your interests?

I AM ENVIOUS! You will have a fab. time! Tell me more, I'd love to help!

I actually went to high school at the Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Mass in the 70's.
Well before it was the Canyon Ranch. It was a Seminary. Let me just say that the news about the Catholic church today is no surprise to anyone who went to school here.
Have been to the one in Berkshires twice. Capsule summary:
1. Excellent range of activities, more than you could ever take part in during one visit! From canoeing and kayaking to all sorts of spa amenities, from hiking to every imaginable type of exercise class, etc., etc.
2. It's expensive.
3. Don't expect gourmet dining. The emphasis is definitely on the healthy eating aspect, though the fruits and vegetables are the best.
4. The staff is incredible. It's service with a capital S.
