I've only been to Hawaii once and arrived from the East Coast. It was a looooooooong trip. We stayed in Wailea, next to Four Seasons, but I guess the hotel has changed hands. It appears that the hotel is now a Fairmont, but we thought it was wonderful. We walked over to FS, but decided we were happy with where we stayed.
If you only have a week, I don't think you should try 2 islands. We were there just under a week, a free company trip so can't complain, but we didn't have as much time as I would have liked. You should definitely try the drive to Hana which was gorgeous. I must say that I really enjoyed our trip (and I'm thrilled we were able to go), but I don't know that I would return and spend that kind of money when so much time is lost when traveling from the East Coast. We left very early in the morning and had to connect thru Chicago...we didn't arrive at our hotel until around 9 PM. |
