Cannon Beach Accomodations?

My family is planning a long weekend trip (1st time) to the Oregon coast. We are thinking of going to Cannon Beach (coming from Seattle).

I am looking for accomodations there for a family of 4. It'd be great to be on the beach, but it's not a necessity.

Am I going to be able to find somewhere to stay for less than $200/nt? Everything I've seen looks pretty pricey for a simple 3-day weekend trip.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

You have been missed darlin Kal ((L))

melh, while I look for it too, go to the search box and type in Cannon Beach. There have been some threads on it lately. I will see if I can get a link here for you too!

You won't get an oceanfront room at that rate, but you might check with SurfSand, Ocean Lodge, Schooner's Cove, or Hallmark Inn. All are on the beach, but you would likely be in a building without an ocean view. Aside from those, there are numerous motel-type accommodations scattered along Hemlock that I imagine would should up in a Google search. Here's a website with a few of them: http://www.oregoncoastlodgings.com/cannon_beach_hotels/. I've no idea if any meet your criteria, but from what I saw over Memorial Day weekend, I'd love staying in any of them.

I have not stayed at all the properties listed here, but one that we do stay at regularly is the SurfSand. It is a favorite of our family. We always get an oceanview room with a queen bed and two twins. That works well for our kids. I agree with Beachbum that the price is not what you are looking for, but if you can swing it, it really is a great place for a family. Great location, right out to Haystack Rock and within walking distance of everything in town.

"Rock Haystack" was my p*rn name.:O)

Yikes! I just read my post and it sounds like someone else! (shudder!!!)

Anyway...my main point was to call the hotels and see if they have anything in your price range.

I know what you mean, mms. My post doesn't sound like me, either. Maybe I should have written in a deeper voice. ;-)

melh, I don't you can go wrong with any place in Cannon Beach. Like mms, we usually stay at the SurfSand, but I haven't seen any place there where I absolutely wouldn't stay.

Thanks for your input. Surfsand does look like a great place for a family trip. I'll definitely keep that in mind as I continue checking out other places.

I just booked a room at Surfsand. It was so highly recommended on several threads that I couldn't resist it. The price is right around $200/nt, I hope it is worth it!
