Canadians - Which size Ziploc bag are you using for liquid carry-on items?
Wondering which kind/size of Ziploc bag Canadians are using for liquid items they want to carry onto the plane. I've read it has to be 8" x 7.5" (1 quart) but we use metric here.
The medium freezer bag seems to be a bit too large (17.7 cm x 19.6 cm). |
Oops, I meant "a bit too small."

Per AirCanada's site:
The maximum quantity of liquids, gels and aerosols permitted in carry-on baggage is 100ml/100g (3.4 oz.) per article. These items must be placed in one clear, closed and re-sealable plastic bag no larger than one litre (one quart). |
in metric countries - 1 litre.
in non-metric countries - 1 quart. |
So it looks like the medium freezer bag (945 mL). Close enough without going over. Should be fine, shouldn't it?
Thanks. |
and maybe some of you know this already.....but your ziplock bag can EITHER be the bags with the little zipper on top, OR the bags where you press the blue and yellow lines together. I was on my airline's website, and they described the quart bags with the actual zipper-top, but on the TSA website video, they showed the "yellow/blue" line top. So I called the airline 'cus I DID NOT want to have to re-pack due to a "technical" error. :) Just a little info for anyone who cares.

I was in an airport recently where the gift shop was giving away one ziptop bag per person before security check. This was in a smaller, regional airport in MI. I have also seen the bags in the travel section of many stores.
|
The other day I bought Ziplock "travel bags"!! I didn not know what size to buy either, so when I saw these I bought them. I don't know if they are available to you in Canada, but I found mine in the travel size section in the health and beauty store.
