Can you suggest a 'local's casino'?

My husband and I are going to Vegas this week. This will be the first time we've had a car at our disposal. We're planning a trip to Mount Charleston one morning, and thought we might stop on the way out of town or the way back at a 'local's casino'. We've only been to casinos on the strip or downtown and thought it might be fun to stop at one for an inexpensive breakfast or late lunch. Any suggestions are appreciated!

My friend who lives in vegas use to always take me to Sam's Club Casino. This is not on the strip or downtown and pretty much just locals.

The Suncoast is a good local casino not far from Mt. Charleston. Great food deals and also has movie theatres.

I agree the Suncoast would be convenient for a trip to Mount Charleston. The buffet @ the Gold Coast, go west from the Strip on Flamingo, is new and temporarily priced below the competition. Breakfast is only $2.95. Across the street is the Palms which opened 11/15. You might also want to visit the Orleans which has a good buffet. At night they have an excellent lounge and Brendan's Irish Pub.
