Can you renege on a winning bid?
Beyond all the scolding I'll get for thinking of such a thing, is it possible to renege on a winning with Skyauction.com?
I don't believe the flights available would work into my schedule and I am wondering what would happen if I fail to honor a winning bid? The site states that Skyauction "reserves the right to charge a $95 fee for failure to honor a bid", however, I don't think I have provided them with any credit information yet. Would that $95 be pp or per bid? |

I haven't used skyauction but I did read their terms and conditions.
IT appears that in order to bid, you need to have registered....and registration requires a valid CC number. If you "renege" they have the right to charge your account $95 per bid. My experience with CC companies and "E-commerce" is that the CC company will hold you in compliance with the company's terms. You are required to agree to sky auction's terms when you register. The motto...as in any auction ..don't bid if you don't think you will follow through. |
You might be able to turn this to your advantage, because if they cannot confirm the flights you want, they will not charge you. So maybe you could just put in the flight times you would want, and then if they can do it great, otherwise they shouldn't charge you and you can get out of it. And I'm not really sure how they can charge you the $95 because I just registered (and won a really cheap cruise!:) ) and it does not require you to enter a credit card. Or maybe you could try the pay now, travel later option? Good luck.
