Sylvia -- We employ a full-service agency that is on-call 24/7. We don't want our guests to be stuck waiting for some real estate agent or cleaner to call them back *eventually*, nor wait for a mainland owner to OK a repair -- also *eventually*. Friends had that experience renting on Maui. They were packing for home before Ms. Mainland Owner got her 'bids'. (Also I don't want to hear about a running toilet at midnight Chicago time! LOL) But, yes, providing that service to guests is an added expense.
