can we snorkel in Kauai in FEBRUARY
 

am thinking of a last minute change to add Kauai to our existing plans for Hawaii. Very important to us to be able to snorkel but don't know if Kauai is suitable for that in wintertime. Any advice would be great, incl. where the good wintertime snorkeling would be. Thanks!

February here in Hawai`i, all of the islands are still in major "winter surf" mode. Even if the water appears to be calm, it will be murky -- not the best conditions for snorkeling on Kaua`i or any of the other islands.

We spent 3 weeks in Poipu Beach this past February and 2 weeks the Feb before. Did lots of snorkelling (every day) at Lawai Beach, Poipu Beach, Salt Pond Beach. Not in the north because it was too rough. But the south shore beaches were great for snorkelling.
