Can my husband get by without a car in Fort Lauderale??

We will be visiting Fort Lauderdale in June for a conference for my job for 4 days. My husband will be hanging out while I am working. Can he get by without a car for 4 days? We will be staying at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper. Would he be able to walk to things? Take the Water Taxi? We will be heading to the Keys after the conference and renting a car then anyway, but were thinking we could save on the cost of parking while in Fort Lauderdale? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

get a car. there's not much within walking distance of the yankee clipper. cars are cheap there, and even parking's not bad.

We saved a bundle in Fort Lauderdale by renting at an off site (non airport) location and waiting til the second day that we were there to get the car. Have you compared those prices?

We stayed at the clipper once. There is a water taxi close by. There is the beach, and restaurants within walking distance. If he takes the water taxi he can get off and on pretty easily. I don't know if I would want to do that for 4 days. Maybe 2 but 4 is quite a lot and the water taxi's are not very quick. It is possible if he just want to go to the beach to do without a car. It just depends on what he would like to do.

From what I read about the Sheraton Yankee Clipper, whatever they charge for parking, it will be a good investment for the enjoyment of your stay.
